FORGIVE ME
I recall your strength, and how safe I felt in your arms, your laugh, and our
happiness, your love, and the plans we made. But now, three years hence, I
remember our farewell, and your promise to come back victorious.
For us
there'll be no triumph, your brother demands my troth.
If I say no, your death he's guaranteed. I can't, no man will take that which I
don't give in love.
The view stretches to the mountains, but the desert beyond is where the
fighting rages. My journey
is shorter, the rocks below.
Forgive me,
my love. . .

That gave me goosebumps! How sad that she had no other choice (in her mind) than suicide. Excellent story Yolanda! Excellent!
Desperation and a loss of hope. She couldn't see her love die, and she knew the other sacrifice was a fate worse than death. Thanks for the inspiration!
That's when you have to fake your death and run far far away.
So true, Pat, but as a prisoner in the tower, not many places to hide or run too.
Well done and so short. Good job.
Thanks, Ivy! 100 words does not allow you to linger long. :)
You've created awesome atmosphere in 100 words Yolanda.
Thanks Denise, you're sweet!
I got chills at the end with the mention of the rocks below. Your a queen of awesome endings!
Thanks Chrys, appreciate your kind words. (blushing) :)
