Renée's life has been a journey marked by adventure and
resilience, shaped against the backdrop of the rugged Alaskan wilderness. A
true explorer at heart, she learned to navigate the extremes of the Last
Frontier – from sleeping under the midnight sun to braving the bitter cold,
hiking the Brooks Range, and traversing the vast expanse from Prudhoe Bay to
Valdez.
The call of a new adventure led Renée away from the
corporate world and into the realm of writing. Alaska, with its untamed beauty
and primal spirit, became not just a setting but almost a character in her
mystery trilogy. Each page of the Detective Quaid mysteries is woven with the
wonders, mysteries, and breathtaking landscapes that define the great state of
Alaska, providing a rich tapestry for love, obsession, and murder to unfold.
Beyond the world of literature, Renée's life is as
intriguing as her novels. An avid reader with a penchant for garage sale
discoveries, she has yet to explore the realms of Harry Potter, the Hunger
Games, the Twilight series, or 50 Shades of Grey but is open to a literary
adventure if found at a bargain.
Renée's professional journey has seen her don various
hats – from accountant to finance director, movie theater attendant to business
school instructor. While her career choices varied, her dream of being a
history professor endured.
In her personal life, Renée's relationship with numbers
is as strong as her dislike for phones. The jarring ring of an alarm clock is
matched only by her aversion to phone calls, a preference for written
communication evident in her love for letters and emails.
Renée's creations are a testament to the joy and fun she
finds in storytelling, even if they may not be considered literary marvels. In
Renée's world, each book celebrates imagination, reflects her adventurous
spirit, and invites readers to join her on a thrilling journey through the
pages of her mysteries.
I would love to hear from you.

Hi Yolanda!
Great to get to know you a little better from this interview!
Best wishes & hugs,
Anna
I'm looking forward to reading your books. I don't have a spirit of adventure so I enjoy reading what adventurous spirits have written and will share. For me, a new subject to research is very exciting so I guess I have a literary spirit of adventure--maybe?
Thank you Linda, for stopping by. I do hope we share more of each other via the written word, your poems are lovely!
Anna, Thank your for stopping by and leaving me a comment. So sorry it took me so long to get here!
It is so much fun to "meet" so many others that prior to stepping out and writing my own eBook I'd have never met. Thank you for the advice in your Blog and for being a part of M.Pax's 2015 Joust. I'm terribly humbled by those who I find myself surrounded by in the Joust. -B. Duane Smith (Dubhglas the Bruce)
Hello, I checked out your site earlier, but couldn't figure out how to comment. Then I ran into the same thing on another site, and realized that if you click on the blog title the comment section will show up. When I leave here, I come by and say hello. It was nice to be paired with you today for The Joust. Such fun!
