In a remake of a Friday the 13th  sequel you play Jason what would be your method of execution for all your victims?

I have a cruel and sadistic way when it comes to my own writing, so I'd have to be very inventive. I'd probably find a way of making the victims kill themselves. Or even better, I'd make them kill each other.

In a remake of Halloween, you are one of the victims describe the scene and your grisly death?

I'd be the one who gets away, only to be hit by a bus or a truck, that would finish me off.

In a remake of the 1974 movie Young Frankenstein which character would you play and why?

This is probably going to make me look bad, but I've actually never seen it, this this one we will move quickly on from. *Bows head in shame!* Is it any good by the way? I'm going to have to watch now, aren't I?

In the Walking Dead, you and another character have survived the zombies, so far. You're on the move, but the individual with you is a wimpy scaredy cat, but oh so hot, still he/she keeps drawing attention to you and your position and it's almost certain he/she will get you killed. What do you do - leave them for the zombies and save yourself? Or take pity on them, because their hotness makes up for their stupidity, and teach them not to be a wimp? Or do you have another solution.

Hmm, well then, a catch 22! I'm sure everyone has there uses somewhere, I'd have to continue to help out, keep the scaredy cat safe, in a hope that at some point the cat turns into a lion. And the fact that she's good on the eye would be a bonus.

You're headed to a Masquerade party as your favorite horror character and at midnight, you are transformed into your character until sunrise. Who is this character and how many victims would you claim by sunrise?

Without doubt I'd have to attend as Angel, the brooding Vampire with a soul, first seen in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In my case when the clock struck 12, it would be a case of how many victims could I save. Unless in a twist of fate, Midnight had its way and released Angelus, then everyone should think about attending another party, because everyone would probably be drained dry.

Share with us your scariest ghost story or nightmare or tell us what scares you the most and why?

Spiders! I'm petrified of spiders, big or small it's no matter. They freak me the hell out!
I've gone all itchy now, so we'll move on quickly again.

Share with us your favorite Halloween experience, costume, and candy.

A few friends and I, when I was much younger, used to love Halloween, we'd scare the heck out of people, then we'd share out the goodies we'd gotten from the people who give us the treats. Then we'd scare ourselves silly, telling spooky stories, ending up with me sleeping with the light on with my dog at the foot of the bed.

Tina Harding's life is about to change again!

She carries within her veins an ancient bloodline, a lost link to the lost pure vampire nobles.

One demonic vampire has escaped from hell and has started to hunt for the Kingdom of Blood. His goal is to take his seat as the ruler of the damned, to become a god among mortals.

Nathaniel, a fallen angel, that was both banished from heaven and exiled from hell, now stranded in our mortal realm.

Has to make a choice, he has to choose a side.

He can either help humanity or damn them.

About me, well, what can I say?

Ah! Ok I got something now, here we go...

Well, I myself just like some of my characters seems to come alive when the sun goes down. But I don't bite.

I grew up in Wigan England, those that look can still find me there.

Other than writing I’m a Pro Wrestler & trainer, Life Coach, read the Tarot, I also teach the art of Tarot, I've been on TV a few times, a Movie too, acting a little here and there.

I love reading, I can be very diverse at times too. Thrillers, horror, historical, things that make me laugh, things that can pull on my heart strings, the list goes on...

I really only started writing fully back in 2007, after I read a book, a supernatural one. I won't say the title but I loved the idea, the theme and the plot, but the ending left me wanting.

So I started to write my own style of a paranormal stories, just a few short stories and pages here and there, until I started writing Guardian of the Gate Bloodline that is, and that's when I could not stop.

Bloodline turned into my first book. My passion, that passion has infected me like a bite from a vampire would, but blood is not what I crave, my craving is a hunger for the written word.

As long as I can keep feeding that passion, I will keep writing, with the hope that you, keep reading...

Once again I’d like to thank you for taking the time to come and have a look around my online home.

Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and head over to my Facebook Fan Page.

A GRIZZLY HORROR

I am truly honored that Gary Pennick caretaker of

Oh, and don't forget the
W...E...P Halloween Haunting
post due on
October 30th!
Have you signed up?

AND NOW TO GARY'S ANSWERS!

You're the last person to die in your favorite horror movie, what's the name of the movie and how do you die?

I wish I'd been the first person to die in my favourite horror movie, "Caligula", which was a horror, as such. Seeing the guy's dangly bits being fed to a bulldog was enough for me. It turns out that out I wasn't actually in my favourite horror movie and was stuck in the movie "Groundhog Day." I finally die, I think I finally die when, "Punxsutawney Phil", legendary groundhog, decides to, "Gobbler's Knob" me and I die a painful death.

In a remake of one of the Friday the 13th movies – you play the killer or Jason what would be your method of execution for all your victims?

Ah yes, I remember the first twelve movies about Friday. My method of execution for all my victims would have to be tying them down, prying open their eyes and force them to watch reruns of "Glee Club." They would die a horrible death as their brains would explode with all the gosh darn giggly fun being forced upon them.

In a remake of Halloween, you are one of the victims – describe the scene and your grizzly / grisly death.

A grizzly death!  I'm knocked over by a very heavy dude wearing a grizzly bear costume.  He is stumbling home from a Halloween party.  After knocking me over, he crushes me to death.  It doesn't bear thinking about.

In a remake of the 1974 movie Young Frankenstein – which character would you play and why.

I would play the part of Frau Blücher because I always wanted to be a forbidding housekeeper.  In fact, uttering such a name would cause horses to rear up and neigh madly in fright.  Don't nag the nag, me thinks.

In the Walking Dead, you and another character have survived the zombies, so far. You're on the move, but the individual with you is a wimpy scaredy cat, but oh so hot, still they keep drawing attention to you and your position and it's almost certain they will get you killed. What do you do - leave them for the zombies and save yourself? Or take pity on them, because their hotness makes up for their stupidity, and teach them not to be a wimp? Or do you have another solution.

I'm going to have the best of both worlds.  I shall give her a long, lingering kiss which shall shut her up. Then, just when I've got the zombies moving past us, I shall throw her to them and get the hell out of there.  This reply was typed in front of a dead studio audience......

You're headed to a Masquerade party as your favorite horror character and at midnight, you are transformed into your character until sunrise. Who is this character and how many victims would you claim by sunrise?

At the stroke of midnight, I turn into my all time favourite horror character.  Until sunrise, I become David Cameron, Prime Minister of Britain. During my delusional state, I claim several thousand vulnerable people as my victims. I take all their money and give it to my rich banking friends.

Share with us your scariest ghost story – or nightmare – or tell us what scares you the most and why.

I have a fear of success.  My comfort zone is actually an uncomfortable comfort zone.

Share with us your favorite Halloween experience, costume, and candy.

My favourite Halloween experience was the time I owned a house in Langley, British Columbia.  It was great fun handing out candy to all those kids. Now that I live in England, no kids come to my door trick or treating.  In a way, that's good because I can eat all the candy that the kids who never came to my door could of had.  I went to a party dressed as Bob McKenzie and my then wife, dressed as Doug McKenzie.  You know of Bob and Doug? Two famous Canadians, eh.

My favourite candy was those toffees wrapped in Halloween themed wrappers.

Greetings, I've been honoured to have my blog "klahanie" featured on the B.B.C.'s radio station "Radio 5 Live." On a show titled: "Pods and Blogs", I tried to highlight in my interview, that it's time to eliminate the unfair stigma that's still attached to mental health issues. I firmly believe that the media can help redress the balance. How about sensationalizing the positive recovery stories rather than the negative stereotypes that people with mental health issues have to endure? I'm a man challenging his 'inner critic.' I will not 'surrender' to my symptoms. I give myself permission to be positive. I try to live my life with positive anticipation. I refuse to let negative speculation overwhelm me. We all have the right to peace and contentment. I want to give others positive affirmations. I'm not daunted by my loneliness. For in my solitude, I have discovered a determined resilience. I care passionately for people who have been undermined in an unjust world. I challenge the stigma that still surrounds mental health issues.

Right then, my blog, or should I say, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar's blog can be found here

POLAR NIGHT WITH JULIE FLANDERS

Today I welcome Julie Flanders the author of Polar Night; she's agreed to answer a few questions.

1.  Tell us a little about the journey of Polar Night – inception to publishing. Based on your journey do you have any advice for novice writers?

The idea for Polar Night came from a dream I had back in 2011. I dreamed that I was on an ocean liner in the 1920s and met a man who talked about a woman he had loved and lost in Russia during World War I. It was a strange dream and involved significantly more detail than the dreams I usually have! I originally planned to set the story in Finland but I realized quickly that I was way out of my depth and it would be much better for me to set it in the United States. Eventually it all came together in Alaska and the Russian history of Alaska fit amazingly well with the story.

Once the ideas were in place I wrote the story fairly quickly and began shopping it around in the spring of 2012. I sent out queries to agents and to small presses and eventually found my home with Ink Smith Publishing in the fall of 2012. The book was released in February 2013 so there really wasn’t a big time gap between the inception of the story and its publication.

I still think of myself as a novice so I don’t know if I am qualified to give any advice, but I would definitely encourage writers to look into all of the different publishing avenues that are available. I have friends who have gone with agents and traditional publishing houses, friends who have published with small presses like I did, and friends who have self-published. I don’t think there is any right way to do it – do your research and decide which path is the right one for you to pursue.

2.  Polar Night is a supernatural thriller, is that your favorite genre? What are your long-term writing goals? Tell us a little about your next project.

I don’t really have a favorite genre, but I definitely enjoy writing stories with some kind of supernatural or paranormal element. My next project is called The Ghosts of Aquinnah and it will be published in December 2013. As you can guess from the title, it features at least one ghost, so while it’s not a thriller it does have a supernatural element. It’s a combination love story, ghost story, and mystery and it takes place in both 1884 and in the present day on the island of Martha’s Vineyard.

One of my writing goals is to continue writing novels and I hope to have the sequel to Polar Night written by next year. I also want to do more freelance writing and hope to write features for print and online media outlets.

3.  If you could change anything about the world today, what would it be and why and if you could change one thing about your life what would it be?

If I could change one thing about my life, I would go back in time and start writing earlier. I didn’t start taking my writing seriously until I was in my 40s and I wish I had realized this was what I wanted to do much sooner. I feel like I wasted quite a few years! But then I also think maybe I needed to make the mistakes I did in order to get to the place I am now.

If I could change one thing about the world, I would stop the treatment of women as second-class (or worse) citizens in so many places. I recently became familiar with the Half the Sky movement, which works to halt the oppression of women and girls worldwide, and it was both eye-opening and horrifying. The gender-based violence, forced prostitution, and lack of education and opportunity for girls that is all too common in many areas is simply infuriating.

4. What is our favorite quote, why, and how have you applied it to your life?

My favorite quote is “It is never too late to be what you might have been” by George Eliot. I went through a difficult period of depression around the time I turned 40 and came upon this quote at that time. I put it up on my refrigerator and it’s been there ever since. It helped me stop focusing on the past and what I hadn’t done and focus instead on the future and what I wanted to do. I started writing and my whole attitude about life changed.

Thanks Julie, for sharing your journey with us!

Book Blurb:  Polar Night

When Detective Danny Fitzpatrick leaves his hometown of Chicago and moves to Fairbanks, Alaska he wants nothing more than to escape the violence and heartbreak that left his life in pieces. Numbed by alcohol and the frozen temperatures of an Alaskan winter, Danny is content with a dead-end job investigating Fairbanks' cold cases. That all changes when a pretty blond woman goes missing on the winter solstice, and Danny stumbles upon some surprising connections between her disappearance and that of another Fairbanks woman three years earlier. Forced out of his lethargy, Danny sets out to both find the missing woman and solve his own cold case.

The investigation points Danny towards Aleksei Nechayev, the handsome and charming proprietor of an old asylum turned haunted tourist attraction in the Arctic town of Coldfoot. As he tries to find a link between Nechayev and his case, Danny's instinct tells him that Nechayev is much more than what he seems.

Danny has no idea that Nechayev is hiding a secret that is much more horrifying than anything he could ever have imagined. As his obsession with finding the missing women grows, Danny finds his own life in danger. And when the truth is finally revealed, the world as he knows it will never be the same.
