Ukraine

My heart is crushed

my mind confused

the world has imploded

And again

the Innocent pay

while the Devil,

Putin

dances and plays

Dear God,

Please Intervene

there has to be a way

for Leaders who can,

Won’t

while trying to avoid

an even more drastic peril

Ukraine the sacrifice

and the Hope of the World

Heaven forgive us

as we watch

unveiled

our deficiency revealed.

Hi Yolanda - a very appropriate poem ... just desperate times. With thoughts - Hilary

Beautifully spoken. And now that they have seized the nuclear plant and intend to use it as ransom against Europe, we need to pray for the whole world.

A beautiful poem about a heart-breaking situation! I hate watching the news, yet feel compelled to do so, crying all the while. 😢

The world has gotten itself into this situation - we never learned the lessons of appeasement prior to September 1, 1939. And the innocents of Ukraine are paying the price.

What is going on is absolutely heart breaking.

Thanks for visiting. It's been a while, but my problems seem petty now, with WAR looming over the world. It's only a matter of time before the full force of what is happening hits us all equally.

Thanks for being here Alex. I agree. Nuclear War is a given with madmen in charge. So emotionally caught up in their egos!

I know how you feel. I can't believe how much I am crying. My husband looks at me as if I'm alien.

Thanks for posting, Alana. I'll just repeat what I said to Alex, Nuclear War is a given with madmen in charge. So emotionally caught up in their egos! History repeats because those ego's keep trying to improve on the last idiot!

Beyond words, Elizabeth, beyond words!

One good thing to come out of this horrific situation is to see a leader of Zelinskyy's ilk who has inspired the world. We lack read leaders. Most are only worried about winning the next election, while Ukraine's president is worried about his people. Refreshing.

Agreed. It's horrific and downright terrifying
