Excellent, more challenges! Gutted that I couldn't take part in the December one, but I'm all set for this year's challenges. Can't wait!
I haven't thought about goals for my writing, I just enjoy the weekly word challenge, although I do occasionally wish I could expand and finish a story.
I've written down the WEP dates, but can't promise I'll do them.

Heh. Heh. Why didn't someone tell me it was IWSG. I was too busy breaking writing rules to notice. I've added a prequel to my current post to include the IWSG question. I'm really snarky about writing rules...:-)
WEP is a lot of fun. The challenges makes you dig deep within your writing self. Write your way and let guidelines improve the craft not take over your creativity. Happy 2017! This co-host is glad to see you up and at them with IWSG, Yolanda.

Rules. Ha! I was in an in-person critique group for twenty years and rules came up at every meeting. I spent a lot of time being frustrated until I learned them.
Thanks for buying my book. I hope you enjoy it. My story didn't get into IWSG so I'm bummed.

I like your attitude. AND, the WEP Challenge is becoming a part of my regular posting schedule, I find it a great challenge to my verbosity to get a good story in under 1000 words.
Rules are there for the reason that writers learn them then know when to break them with good effect.
Happy New Year! I still need to think about what kind of writing goals will be reasonable for 2017. I have a lot of family stuff going on, but I'm going to do my best to write as much as I can.

I do try to follow the rules, particularly since I write for children which is much stricter. Authors can get away with a lot more when writing for adults... still, I wouldn't mind breaking a few that I really don't like.
I'm all for breaking rules and break them quite often, but only if I understand them first and seriously believe it will make the novel better for my target reader if I do.
I want to grab the bull by the horns in 2017, but I can't seem to find the pasture he's in...
This was actually the first question I asked when I saw this month's question, lol. For the most part, I subconsciously stick to the rules, but there are areas I may break a few if it works for what I'm writing.
I meant to join a WEP challenge last year, but I didn't make the time for them. This year, I want to try at least one, and all of these themes sound intriguing.
