What Do You See?

I’LL TELL YOU WHAT I SEE!

Look at me.

Do you see the evil within

the rage unchecked

and the fires of hell awaiting to consume?

Look at me.

Is surprise my expression

fear of the unknown

or sorrow from grief unfathomable?

Look at me.

Is it horror you see?

Do you feel empathy or

a kinship to the true monster within?

Look at me.

I’ll tell you what I see.

A heart black as night

a soul withered by sin and damned to oblivion!

Brilliant Renee - excellent for us all to see ... loved it - but I just know your heart is a blackened soul ... didn't quite get that right - but the sentiment is there and your words are better than mine ... just glad you felt able to write for us ... cheers Hilary

Hi, Hilary!
I hope my heart isn't blackened. LOL
To write my poetry this month I took inspiration from the pictures, except for A Ghostly Point of View. That came to me in a moment of darkness although the last stanza came in a dream. With this one, I was trying to interpret the faces on the pumpkins. It was fun.
