There's one sad truth in life I've found

While journeying east and west -

The only folks we really wound

Are those we love the best.

We flatter those we scarcely kn

We please the fleeting guest,

And deal full many a thoughtless blow

To those who love us best.

~Ella Wheeler Wilcox~
This blog is in honor of my two sons who remind me daily the true meaning of love and the commitment I made when they came into my life.
Spring break is over and the real work begins.
Murder & Obsession, book three of my murder trilogy has been accepted for publication. (Yes, I did the happy dance!)

  1. That we surely do. Congrats too!

  2. Congratulations!!! That is awesome. And wonderful dedication to your sons.

  3. I love poems that speak to feeling you didn't know you had and it's a wonderful tribute to your boys. Congrats and the fun begins!

  4. Yolanda, love the poem and feel the emotion. Congratulations on your contract! So excited for you! Can't wait to read the finished product. :-)

  5. That is a great poem - and sadly so true!!

I'm sure your sons will always look back on this and smile :)

PS: I'd be more than happy to share some thoughts on my memoir journey... whenever you have the chance, just shoot me an email to
