Frankenstein
There's a
monster poorly sewn
Frankenstein,
not a clone
put together
from death
no need for
breath
different parts
and pieces
with lots of
creases,
a weirdly
shaped head
a body too
huge
and a neck
where bones protrude
was his blood
stewed
where did he
come from
some body-mart
an alien
planet or garbage dump,
he grunts his
words
but seeks
softness and
warmth
poor,
misunderstood creature
hounded by people
with
even worse features
pitchforks and
torches
under a full
moon
they scream
and chant
burn, burn, burn
will they
achieve such a gruesome task
or has nature got plans
for this poorly made mass.

Much of my own sewing falls into the Halloween category.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this - and a Happy Halloween to you.
Mine too, but I still love doing it. Takes me back to memories of my Grandma! LOL
DeleteHappy Halloween!
Now that you mention it, he is stitched together all wrong. You would think a doctor would be good with stitches.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think. LOL Thanks, Alex!
DeleteHappy Halloween, Yolanda! 🎃 I love the poem and the word body-mart. Makes for a fun, visual image. 🦵👂
