As usual I'm late, but I just came across this wonderful new flash fiction challenge on Sally's Scribbles, and I was inspired. I do hope you'll join the fun. Here is my entry, and yes, typical for me, murder came to mind. What can I say, my muse is pure evil!
This is a unique flash fiction challenge where we provide you with a new photo each week, and the first sentence of a story. Your challenge is to finish the story using 100-150 words, not including the sentence provided. Don’t forget to use the opening sentence… This challenge runs from Monday to Sunday! Get creative and have fun finishing the story!
Please include the photo with your bit of flash and a link back to this post. Do not forget to click on the blue link to add your link so that others can enjoy your story too! Now let’s have some fun!
SINS & WISHES
“Zeus was not having a good day and he made sure everyone
knew it.”
Murder is
a sin, but I do think about it. Then again, maybe I think about it too much, at
least in regards to you. King of the castle, man of the house, ruler of his
realm, you do strut your stuff.
They say
our next life holds the reward for the sacrifices we make in this life. I
married you, had my eyes wide open, but I can't justify the damage to our
children if I left. So, you have no worries; you'll live a long and powerful
life.
Still,
the number of ways I kill you in my mind grows daily. My only hope is that
karma plays a role and for each evil depiction - I lose one year of my future.
Death will be my final blessing.

Nicely done Yolanda! No one has used the Hera POV. Thank you for contributing to the Mondays Finish the Story challenge. I hope that you return for the next one. Be well... ^..^
ReplyDeleteThanks Barb, this was fun. I look forward to the next challenge. :)
DeleteGreat story telling. Glad you found this site - it's great fun.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done! Like the twist you took with the prompt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy, it's been great fun reading the other twists the prompt inspired!
DeletePoor Hera gets the shaft as Zeus screws anything that moves haha
ReplyDeleteHe does do that and in many, many forms!
DeletePowerful words. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy, she hopes for better, but plans for the worst! :)
DeleteHe'd better not piss off Hera any more!
ReplyDeleteDon't think he cares, he is a god! LOL
DeleteLoved it. He did play around a lot didn't he? Deserved some come uppance.
ReplyDeleteNot a good husband at all. He will get his though, karma will out!

ReplyDeleteThat's the first thing that came to my mind. Because I think I had watched some cold case episodes (which were solved) just this afternoon.
It is I, Jules from Cataloging Sheila - I have a 'B' account for ease of leaving comments.
I'll also be sending an e-mail shortly - seems we could be neighbors.
Thank you for your visit, kind words and interest - I use the word lists and prompts to dictate the story.
Thanks Jules, I love knowing the story behind the story. So nice to meet you through the challenge. Yes, we are neighbors!
DeleteHe's better watch out, hadn't he? She could make life pretty hellish w/o actually killing Zeus ...enjoyed the flash and the interview this morning..
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nila, I'm sure they manage to needle one another on a consistent basis, the gods do like to play! :)
DeleteIt's about time he was given his just desserts.
ReplyDeleteHey Shannon, love your horror blog reviews! Zeus is more devil than god, isn't he?
DeleteVery powerful - that she's happy to lose years of her life just to imagine killing him in new and exciting ways!
ReplyDeleteShe has a loving heart for not wanting to harm her children, but a vengeful and pragmatic one also, at least in my mind. :)
DeleteHey Yolanda,
ReplyDeleteZues has to realise he's never bigger than a women's mind that has thoughts of killing.
Gary
LOL, Gary, so true, so true. But those ego's they'll kill you everytime!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I really enjoyed this and loved the POV you took as Hera. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy, what's a godess to do for fun?
DeleteGood story, Yolanda, and an interesting point of view. It looks like Zeus is in for a hard time. Welcome to Monday's Finish the Story. :) --- Suzanne
ReplyDeleteThanks Sazanne, looling forward to the next one!
DeleteLoved this story.. and committing murders in the mind is good way to perfect it, perhaps. Enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is, I do it all the time! :)
