IWSG - Hobbies

Question - Besides writing what other creative outlets do you have?

I’ve tried a few different things. Sewing, knitting, painting, cooking, and crafting. But I’ve not stuck with anything the way I have writing. I find these other options as a nice break when I need it.

The awesome co-hosts are
Raimey Gallant, Natalie Aguirre, CV Grehan, and Michelle Wallace!

  1. Hi Renee! Yes we writers have many other creative outlets. I remember blogging about this awhile back. I guess my favorite other than writing is traveling. Big surprise!
How's the edits on Murder Just Because going?

    1. Hey, Denise! How's the traveling going? Edits are going slow, which is all good. I'm in no hurry. Probably for the first time in...ever! :)

  3. I don't have any other real creative ventures either. When I have time, I am trying to teach myself how to play piano but I haven't had time in months to do this.

  4. The stand-in looks good! I've tried a few other things as well. The kitchen laughs at me whenever I mention baking!

    1. I love to bake, but the bad thing is I love to eat what I bake. So no more baking! :)

  5. It's funny how many of us talk about the hobbies we USED to do but don't now that we're writing. That cover is creepy. Good but creepy.

  9. Sure a fine stand in cover indeed. Hey, at least you have things to try in between. Writing wins though here too.

  10. Does taking piano lessons many, many years ago count as a creative hobby now? Otherwise, writing is all I've got.

  13. You know me...I have TONS... LOL. Currently working on a baby quilt. Ugh. Haven't made one of these in years, but it's for a very special alternative practitioner who just had a baby.... Then...Back to EDITING!

  14. Hi Renee - I used to play squash ... almost seriously - but not now. Now tis blogging and lots of talks, interest groups, museums et al when I can get around to getting out and about - I'd love to draw, or paint, or sew ... but I used to cook too - don't do that either. Walking - but must do more of that ... difficult to not write though - cheers Hilary
